Allred on Anniversary of Ted Cruz Fleeing Texas During Winter Storm Uri: Everyone remembers where they were when Ted Cruz abandoned our state

DALLAS — Today Congressman Colin Allred, released the following statement marking the third anniversary of Ted Cruz’s decision to abandon Texans during Winter Storm Uri.

“Everyone remembers where they were when rolling blackouts started, when the temperatures dropped and when Ted Cruz abandoned our state to go to Cancun,” said Allred. “Ted Cruz thinks this is a joke, but Texans died during this storm and he decided to take an impromptu vacation. It’s time we elected a Senator who actually cares about Texans. It’s clear Ted Cruz only cares about himself.”

Additionally, Allred released a video discussing the anniversary and asking Texans to send their stories of what they went through during Winter Storm Uri. During the winter storm, Allred volunteered with the North Texas Food Bank to help get food and supplies to Texans in need.
