ICYMI: Allred Continues to Prove He is the Candidate to Defeat Ted Cruz Next November

DALLAS – The momentum continues behind Congressman Colin Allred’s campaign for Senate as his campaign announced bringing in over $8.6 million for his first FEC filing, including raising $6.2 million in just 59 days, the highest Q2 raise in Texas history – and Allred was raising for only 2 of the 3 months. Allred’s campaign had over 97,600 unique donors and 96% of the gifts received were $100 or less.

Allred continued to solidify himself as the best candidate to defeat Ted Cruz picking up the endorsement of the American Federation of Government Employees, whose Texas leadership called him the clear choice for working people across Texas. They joined the Congressional Black Caucus, End Citizens United//Let America Vote, and Foreign Policy for America in backing Allred’s candidacy.

All of this builds on early momentum behind Allred’s candidacy including political experts at the Cook Political Report, Inside Elections and Roll Call upgrading Democrats’ chance of winning Texas due to Allred’s announcement. As well as two polls showing Allred in a single digit race against Ted Cruz.
